HEARD Africa is a non-profit organization established in 2020 and based in Abuja Nigeria. The organization is established to inspire all-inclusive transformation in the life of most vulnerable population across Africa through health, education, research, gender, development and agricultural programs, policies and initiatives for global development.
The organization is brain trust and implementer in broad areas of Health, Education, Agriculture, Gender, Research, Policy and Advocacy with their intersections amongst other areas of interest. HEARD Africa constantly advances the development of policy connect with practical solutions o development issues and questions in Nigeria and Africa. In this area, HEARD Africa has worked closely with a wide range of national, international development agencies on project related to our areas of focus.
It provides services to governments, regulatory authorities, global agencies, development organizations, international donors, and persons involved in global development. HEARD Africa provides policymakers with ongoing, systematic, and informed, national and international analyses and reflections on policy options and their implications as well as practical solutions. The organization support the implementation of these policy options that support reforms.
HEARD Africa expertise is anchored on experienced multidisciplinary team of nonprofit leaders, practitioners, specialists, consultant and team who bring a rich blend of expertise in public health, policy advocacy, gender, youth development, organizational development community development and empowerment. Our team in HEARD Africa is led by Akaoma Onyemelukwe, a nonprofit leader with over 2 decades of extensive experience in global development nationally and internationally with impactful results
Meet Our Founder
Akaoma Onyemelukwe
She is a global development leader, with extensive experience in social development and humanitarian sectors for over 20 years. She has extensive expertise in in policy and strategy development, reforms in public health, gender, education and governance, systems strengthening applying wide range systems thinking, research. She has accelerated impact in global development through management of large and complex programs in Health (Disease focused, Health systems strengthening and Universal Health Coverage), Humanitarian, Education, Governance and Media. Akaoma has worked extensively in Nigeria and across Africa.
